Infinitum today announced its Aircore EC motor system has been named Overall Energy Technology Solution of the Year in the 2026 CleanTech Breakthrough Awards program.
The award recognizes Infinitum’s innovative approach to helping power-intensive industries do more with less energy. By achieving the lowest real-world energy consumption — using fewer kilowatt hours and requiring less electrical infrastructure — Infinitum is transforming how commercial HVAC, data centers and heavy industry use, manage and conserve power.
Infinitum’s unique air-core motor system eliminates the heavy iron stator core, replacing it with a lightweight printed circuit board (PCB) stator. The motor features an integrated a variable frequency drive (VFD) and right-sized design to meet the exact power needs of the application. This enables up to 20% less energy consumption in cooling equipment, while reducing the amp rating and associated power budget.
In the data center sector, as AI-related cooling needs surge amid power constraints, Infinitum’s flexible motor systems allow operators to reduce the power budget needed for cooling solutions and reallocate it to AI workloads, thereby reducing electrical infrastructure needs and easing grid strain.
“At Infinitum we’re reimagining motor technology to meet the needs of a new era of energy,” said Ben Schuler, founder and CEO, Infinitum. “This recognition reflects our team’s dedication to helping our customers do more with less by reducing energy use, lowering infrastructure requirements and unlocking capacity where it matters most.”
The CleanTech Breakthrough Awards program conducts a deep analysis of the clean technology landscape and recognizes the most innovative companies, products and services.
