Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning Donates Water Heater to Support Dog Rescue

Lafayette, CA — Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning is proud to announce its recent in-kind donation to Hugs for Harry Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving and caring for vulnerable dogs across the Bay Area. The company donated and installed a 40-gallon electric water heater, helping the rescue facility take a major step toward self-sufficiency and improved animal care.
The donated water heater will power a new in-house laundry facility and provide hot water for a dog washing station—both critical components in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and proper grooming for rescue animals. These upgrades will allow Hugs for Harry to better support the health and wellbeing of the dogs in its care while reducing ongoing operational costs.
Hugs for Harry recently relocated to a new facility in Lafayette, California, in January 2026. While the move provided expanded space for their growing rescue efforts, it also came with a long list of necessary improvements. Plumbing infrastructure and hot water access were among the most urgent needs, but budget constraints made the project difficult to complete—until Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air stepped in.

Hugs for Harry rescues dogs from a wide range of difficult situations, including abandonment, medical neglect, and overcrowded shelters where they may be at risk of euthanasia. The organization relies heavily on community donations and volunteer support to continue its mission.
